Why Im Quitting Facebook. I know, totally original. At least to Mad Men fans. But anyways. It seems appropriate. Facebook turns into tobacco at some point. Or some sort of addiction or ugly habit. The constant refreshing. The checking for commets. The little thrill that comes from the likes. You can judge all you want, but everyone has done it. Then comes the uglier side. When life starts to be “lived” from behind the camera lens, to have awesome photos to post to Facebook to make people jealous of your awesome life, the parents who have to post about their amazing kids…and more importantly, what amazing parents they are, reading a book and seeing a quote that would be a perfect status update or listening to a song and finding the perfect lyric to piss off that ex that is still your friend. It all becomes a habit. And life slowly becomes about others knowing about your journey, not about you seeing and enjoying your one and only journey.
So, here I am. Ugliness and gnarly habits and all. Ready be an active part of my life, not just the biographer.
